Well, the nominees have been announced.
Every year I compete in an Oscars contest with my Aunts. Last year the husband and I traveled up to Pittsburgh to visit and watch them live with my Aunts (instead of calling them after every award like I usually do). You may also remember this as the year that I WON!
Regardless of who won (me!) or lost (everyone else!)** we had a wonderful time and planned to do it again tis year. 
Fast forward to my sister having a baby (that I get to schmoosh tonight) and my Aunts have decided to come down here this year. I am so very excited. It’s still over a month away but I’m already preparing.
And this morning’s nominations give me cause to prepare even more as I plan to watch (as I did last year…again…I WON!) all of the movies nominated for Best Picture (OMG why are there 10 now?) and all of the movies nominated in Acting awards that don’t overlap. AND if I have time and can find them, the animated shorts and documentaries.
I take this all very seriously. Mostly b/c this guy tells me all the time about how much he loves living at my house…

we have a theater up in DC that shows all of the nominees in a marathon. not sure how they’re going to handle this year with so many.
… and i may have to look up why they expanded it for my learning : )
