I know I haven’t been around much lately. I’ve been going through a lot professionally and just haven’t had the time.
Truth be told I don’t really have the time now but I just wanted to share this with you…
One of the Faculty for whose program I work just sent me an email with an attachment…
When I opened said attachment it turned out to be an MP3 “memo” sent from her iPhone!
I was already bewildered by her ability to now respond to my emails at the touch of a button due to the addition of the iPhone. I don’t need a new method of communication.
Just to keep count we now have:
- In person contact
- Voice Mail (cell and land line)
- Email (cell and at home)
- MP3 “memo’s
I’m frightened.
Luckily I still have the ability to only checks these modes of communication between the hours of 8AM and 4:30PM, Monday through Friday.

this is why i refuse to own an iPhone… more or less a blackberry. it’s bad enough that i’m tethered to my laptop 10 hours a day 6 days a week… i don’t need to be reachable at every moment of my life. i rather enjoy my moments of no communication!
I hope everything is OK! And also, an MP3 memo is scary.
That’s insane!!!! She was already writing the email to you, so why couldn’t she have just typed out the memo???
If the twentysomethings are overwhelmed, what are the 40somethings gonna manage? I know. Everybody shut up. No more talking. Only dirty looks and the finger when necessary.
Whoa.
