The countdown has begun. In less than a month I’ll be preparing to check my summer students into their New York housing. But that’s not exactly something for me to look forward to. You want to know what I’m looking forward to?
- JetBlue. I love JetBlue. The TV in every seat. The variety or airline snacks. The fact that my husband and I have seats in the 3rd row so we don’t have to fight anyone when the plane lands at JFK. And of course the fact that it’s a non-stop flight.
- Our hotel. The Washington Square Hotel. Oooh pretty
And of course, swanky. - Dinner at Vezzo with Margarita. She introduced me to this restaurant when I was up back in August. And I would be lying if I said I haven’t been craving a nice bottle of wine paired with a Fafandone pizza for the past 2 months. All of this followed by after dinner cocktails at Vig 27 and then off to KGB the Russian Mafia Bar we stumbled into late one night last August.
- A Saturday matinée of Sunday in the Park with George. I was able to book some amazing seats.
- BlogCon 08! I still have no idea what the plans will be but it will include some sort of open bar.
- Dinner and Margaritas at the Cowgirl! Best margaritas in town.
I’ve actually already got the directions to this restaurant printed off
I’m ready! - Brunch with unlimited mimosas.
- The Superhero exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. (Mainly for the husband.)
- And probably much more! Your ideas are welcome!
I’m just so excited for this trip. It’s the first trip to NYC for my husband and I really hope that he enjoys himself. It’s a place that I love so much, I want him to love it as much as I do.
I think his reaction is what I’m most looking forward to!
*kisses*

I’m sure he will.
Especially with the Super Hero Exhibit. Lol.
It sounds like you have a lot to look forward to! I’ve only been to NYC a handful of times so I can’t recommend anything.
I’m looking forward to my semester ending and going on vacation!! And one of my oldest friends e-mailed me to tell me that’s she’s engaged! So I have a trip to Scotland to look forward to.
Umm, now I want a margarita and a mimosa. At my desk. At work. At 8:54.
Have a good weekend!
Sounds so fun!
Oh my goodness! I am so excited. You have no idea
I’ve been craving that pizza lately.
aww it all sounds like so much fun!! make sure to walk and sight-see all the big things you hear of in NYC. its so cool to put names with actual buildings and all.
Brunch with unlimited mimosas sound great to me right now
That is a pretty fabulous list of things to be looking forward to. I’m a little jealous.
Yay for non-stop flights! And mimosas!!
I didn’t realize you work at a college until your last post. I work at a college too!
Ooh! Take me, take me!!
I love JetBlue too! Looking forward to BlogCon
And, if you and your hubby were really trying to see the sites, I would recommend getting a NYC Citypass, it gets you entry to 6 attractions for one price and sometimes you can avoid the line. Check it out and have fun!
I am so jealous! I’ll be thinking of you while I’m at my 2 weddings that weekend, and you’d best be thinking of me too
And SuperHero exhibit! That sounds awesome… you’ll have to let me know what it’s like.
sweet! you got some exciting things on tap!
Go to Arezzo’s for some AMAZING Italian food. Seriously, I could have eaten there every night I was in NYC last year.
sounds like a great time! definitely something to look forward to
Ironically, I’m booking tickets to NYC today … for my fiance and I … to go visit my brother in late June. We cannot wait for our trip either. It’s gonna be swell. Have a great trip!
Sounds like a lot to look forward to
I took my husband on his first trip to NYC and he loved it. How could he not?? It’s New York!!! I’m sure it will be amazing.
That sounds like so much fun!! If you like scavenger hunts and have some extra time, check out this site: http://www.watsonadventures.com/schedule.html
We did the Murder at the Met one, and it was a blast! Either way, I’m super jealous, and can’t wait to hear about your trip
I live less than 20 min from Manhattan and did not know about these places! I have to try both restaurants out soon
Also, you must go to Madame Trussaud’s Wax Museum if you’ve never been…it’s on 42nd St between 7th and 8th Ave…life-size wax replicas of a lot of celebrities.
Take lots of photos and have a blast!
I’ve missed you,
JetBlue is THE BEST airline ever. Seriously, watching Rock of Love three times in a row makes a flight go by so quickly. Not that I would know.
