***For some reason Margarita’s post never posted when I had it timestamped to do so, so without further ado…***
Mim asked me to guest post! When she first asked me, I was all excited, “Of course, Mim!” Then I drew a complete blank as to what I would say. And then she gave me a deadline. I considered bailing because of the PRESSURE to perform, but then I thought that would be mean. So here I am, with T minus 3 hours left. I really have to give props to bloggers who post every day. I don’t know how you do it. If I did, mine would read:
9 AM – Overslept! Grabbed large coffee on way to work
1 PM – Dropped off drycleaning
3 PM- Internally cursed at boss for giving me work at 3 PM
8 PM – Chicken or fish?
Yes, very titillating ß does anyone else think that’s a naughty word?
Anyways, I decided to share a creation of mine. In spite of my propensity to blog about my drinking habits, I still have quite a few brain cells left and some of those can do mathematical things. What is my creation? A chart that quantifies the compatibility of the men you are dating/boyfriend/potential suitor (I know, I’m a nerd.). So, basically I have various categories: Attractiveness, Humor, Family Compatibility, Future Economic Compatibility, Sexual Prowess, the Chemistry/It factor, etc. I then WEIGH each category with a percentage. For me, the Chemistry Factor (13%) is weighed significantly heavier than the Attractiveness Factor (5%). It’s a Pros and Cons list, but BETTER.
(Someone posed the question, why would you care about how attractive they are, if they get full points in Chemistry? And I responded, “Think about your children.”)
Of course, after you assign a percentage to each category, it should equal 100%. Really think about the percentages and categories and what’s most important to you. My chart makes it easy to see if you are totaling over 100%. You then enter a score of 1-10 in each category for each man (or woman), and then you get a total for each person all the way on the right. Theoretically, you should be dating the person with the highest score. I shared the chart with some girlfriends, and I think I may have been a harsher scorer than them because none of my men scored above an 80%. Ideally, we would be completely objective and not skew the results in favor of someone we might “prefer.” Does a 100% match exist? I doubt it, but I think imperfections are what endear people to us J
I didn’t include intelligence. For me, that’s a given. If he doesn’t have it, he doesn’t even make it on the chart.
If you’d like the chart, email me (smoresandmargaritas@gmail.com) or leave Mim a comment. We’ll both be on vaca but she’ll be back by next week so I’d ask her.
Happy Friday!
Peace out,
Margarita

You see, for me, a geek factor is also necessary.
I like it
makes sense to me. Though I too doubt 100% can ever be achieved.
I totally agree on the posting every day thing. Sometimes I just really am THAT boring. no one needs to read it! welcome to mim’s world!
