Blue is not a flavor!

One of our tax refund checks came yesterday. (Thank the good Lord!) And I mentioned to my husband several times that I would like to use $100 of our tax refund for personal things. That being said, I will most definitely be ordering these crocs:

And I also wanted to get my hair cut. So I journeyed to the mall, stole my husband’s bank card and chopped off all my hair!

I haven’t had my hair this short in years. I think I was a sophomore in college when I walked over to my friend’s dorm and told her to chop all of my hair off.

My husband has never known me to have hair this short. He was extremely surprised. He told me that it was different but he knew I truly liked it b/c he can tell when I’m upset but trying to hide it…apparently I was not hiding any upset. Which is good b/c I love it. Though it is a tad too short. But hair grows…right?…RIGHT!?

When I went to visit my husband last night, he was very excited to tell me something. A little background…I’m very adamant about blue colored food and beverage items. I’m adamant about the fact that they should not exist, b/c blue? is totally not a flavor. It’s a color. Blueberries? They’re purple. Blue Raspberries? Purple. And my husband’s favorite Gatorade? Blue Ice. Which technically should be clear. You know, b/c ice is clear.

I’ve gotten into this argument more times than I’d like and it all stems from a drunken convo I had with one of my best friends, Nikki, years ago. Since that fateful night, I’ve been known to scream at people who are ingesting something that’s colored blue…”BLUE IS NOT A FLAVOR!”

So, apparently my husband was very excited last night b/c he got into this discussion with one of his part timers who informed him (and then me) that passionfruit is blue. Hubby please correct me if I’m remembering the fruit incorrectly, which I very well could be but when I googled passionfruit…I found this:

“The purple passion fruit is native from southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina.”

To which I now say BOOYA! I told you that blue is not a flavor.

And on a final note, I’m feeling great and my husband is feeling worse. This morning I had possibly the best half asleep conversation with him, ever.

H:”Baby“

M: “Yes honey?“

H: “Will you stay home with me today?“

M: “No honey, I feel great.“

H: “Will you stay home and take care of me today?“

M: “Are you 5?“

H: “…uh huh.“

Ok first…OMG!! Your hair is very short!! It looks good though. 2nd, you’re totally right- Blue is not a flavor. Passionfruit is in fact purple on the outside and yellow on the inside.

you look SO cute!!! aw man everyone is cutting their hair and i am getting major hair cutting FEVER. It’s never been this bad! Seriously I believe its due to the “DONT DO IT” factor. Im so glad youre feeling better and have a sweet new ‘do and congrats on the tax dough!

I love your hair. I’ve been trying to get mine into a one length bob for at least a year (it was short forever, then I had it layered as it grew out, so it’s been a process!) so right now it’s similar to yours but maybe about an inch or two shorter. The real question is: when will my f–king bangs finally catch up???

changing up the hair is always fun… especially since your husband has never seen it that short. good for you!

i am not into artificially coloured or flavoured things.

A. they freak me out (as many things do, come to think of it)

B. they never actually taste like the real thing. it is why i do not like banana flavoured things but like bananas, i do not like grape flavoured things but like grapes, i do not like cherry flavoured things but like cherries, you get the picture. the only one that kinda works for me is orange.

I don’t like ingesting anything that is blue - like you said, nothing natural is blue. Those artifical dyes cannot be good for you.

And I whole-heartedly disagree with you. Blue is a flavor and a fine flavor at that. I get excited when I see blue things and alllllways have to try those things like blue icing, Cotton Candy BubbleYum, Blue Razzberry Blow-Pops, but esp blue drinks like Blue Raspberry Icees (mmmmm! want one now). However, blue alchoholic beverages esp the Blue Motorcycle and blue drinks at showers where an expectant mother is having a boy are skurrrry and do not bode well.

Ooo, I like your hair. I toy with the idea of cutting mine off again (after the disaster of doing the locks of love… I start thinking… maybe not) but then, I think that I want long hair at this wedding I’m having. Anyway… I like yours, and I think Guitar Hero III is a great backdrop for it!

And I totally agree: Blue is not a flavor. I did a survey in high school once which focused on people’s favorite flavors of things, and I’m sure you’d believe how many people said that “red” and “purple” were their favorites. Yes, I think that you can imagine the look on my face.

I love the new look! I am ready to go shorty short too. You’re so right, blue is NOT a flavor and when I’m sick I want the hubs to stay home with me and take care of me too. Oh and the kids so I can snuggle my sick self up in the covers.

First, I’m loving the new hair. And? If you start boo-hooing like I did when I chopped mine, just remember, like you said, it does grow.

Second, the color blue should not be ingested. It is not a color found in anything worth eating! Yuck!

Yes! Blueberries are totally purple.

I’m with you on colored foods. I think food should be a certain color (depending on the food) so when its not that color, I can’t eat it. You eat with your eyes first!

So when ketchup came out with the fun colors awhile ago (purple, I think?), I COULD NOT EVEN FATHOM USING IT.

And apples should be red. Not green.

You know, I realized as I was reading your post that I have never seen your hair that long. So your hubby has never seen the hair short and I’ve never seen it long!

Also, I’m with the hubby. I like blue things. I love the blue mr. misty freezes at dairy queen, blue bubblegum balls, blue gatorade, etc. Yay blue!
