A couple of mornings ago while getting ready for work I noticed this:

Not an uncommon occurence by any means. But they usually stay in the area above the refrigerator which is further over to the right. So obviously I had to completely stop what I was doing and concentrate on what they were doing.

It was then that I noticed this:

See that tiny black fleck? It’s a fly. (Yes a fly in January. No I don’t know why it’s in my house. I’m under the impression that all bugs die in November and then miraculously come to life again sometime in March)

My cats were stalking the fly. But not your normal swatting kind of stalking. Oh no. It’s like they were willing it to them. Or if you’re a geek like me, they were trying to Jedi mind trick it into their clutches…

In this scenario I like to think that Harley is Obi Wan Kenobi and Joker is Luke Skywalker…I, of course, am Yoda.

HQ: “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.“

Joker: “Shut up. I don’t care what the force is, I care what the force will do for me. And right now I’m using the force to ‘will’ the fly to me. Come to me fly.

Me: “An infinite mystery is the Force. Much to learn, there still is.“

Joker: “Dudes, I know. Blah blah blah. Just be quiet and let me use my infinite power for an infinite snack of fly!”

You know, I never realized how much of a prick Luke Skywalker is.

Bonus: If you find yourself bored today go up to the first picture and play “count the pigs”.

I count four pigs (there’s one on the sign, right?) and a beanie baby that doesn’t really look like a pig but might be? In a beanie-baby-pig kind of way?

I counted 4 as well but don’t think that beanie baby is a pig. Who knows though!

But seriously - your cats are impressive with their fly stalking! I can’t even get my dogs to fetch.

my cat, holly, makes the weirdest noise when she sees any kind of bug on the ceiling. and she ONLY makes that noise then. you will never hear it any other time. it’s hilarious.

and yeah, i spy with my little eye - 4 piggies.

Aw kitties!

The Star Wars references reminded me of one of the family’s I nanny for. The twin boys who are 3 call Obie Wan — Obie Obie and think that Jabba the Hut is a frog.

Hahaha, an cat inner monologue is a great way to start the day! I couldn’t find your second cat for a minute. It was like a hidden picture from Highlights for Children before I spotted him there on the left. I hope they get the fly! And if they want to come kill centipedes in my apartment later, I’d have no problem with that.

Hahahaha. The one thing I love about cats (over dogs, even though I’m a dog person) is their stalking. I love it when they stalk.

Ha, my dog does the Jedi Mind Trick all the time, mostly with food. You’d think he’d have learnt by now that he’s not a TRUE Jedi yet, but no.
