I utilized my long weekend. I slept, I hung out with family and friends. But I think more importantly…I baked.
Every time I go to the grocery I buy bananas. I’m not sure why, b/c sometimes I truly don’t need them. It’s possible I buy them for their healing qualities. Healing qualities, you ask? Not only do bananas help prevent the dreaded charlie horse (caused by not having enough potassium in your system) they can also help prevent hangovers.
I’m not kidding. The next time you have a rip roaring good night, one that ends with telling your friends about the monster of a hangover you just know you’re going to have the next day, try to remember to eat a banana before you pass out. You will wake up the next morning without a hangover and what’s more, you’ll be extremely refreshed.
You’re welcome.
So, on Monday I went to the grocery and came home with a bunch of bananas and was about to throw away the really ripe ones when I thought…’I could totally make banana bread!’
So after going over to my parents to steal borrow a loaf pan and a stick of butter (I only had a tub) I got to work!

There are several different kinds of recipes for banana bread. I of course being the weirdo that I am, forgot about my cupboard full of cookbooks and looked online. Once I remembered that I had cookbooks I compared different recipes and found that I could either use brown or white sugar. After a quick text exchange with Each, I decided to use the brown sugar recipe. You may choose to add nuts if you’d like but my husband is allergic, so no nuts for us!

So very yummy and a great way to cure the winter blues.
*kisses*

Brown sugar in the banana bread is essential. It looks delicious and it is lunch time you have just motivated me to go get something to eat, namely, banana bread.

And who knew they were a form of hangover prevention? Well, you, obviously. Thanks!
I’m so very late catching up on my blogs but a few things:
1) I laughed out loud at “You’re welcome.”
2) Delightful display of the cookbook in the back of your photo.
3) I see your new piggy cutting board:)
and 4) I like banana bread w/o nuts. Yummerths!
holy banana nutbread!! that, some warm milk and maybe some sex, but definitely the bnb and some warm milk and that’s heaven for me. Forget the 40 virgins… those pictures looked holy smokes wowness (lack of words) followed by some (nonsensical ramble and some homer-esque drool)…::sounds of gurgling::
yum.
Mmm. I am damn hungry now. Especially for banana bread warm from the oven…
