I’ve been thinking heavily about Blog Con 08. I thought we’d get it started with…
Specifics:
Where? NYC. The lovely Margarita will be in charge of the locale and if any of you other New Yorkers want to have your say about that, talk to her. I know very little about NYC and it’s probably best not to confuse me further. Though..karaoke bar? Is anyone else up for that?

Now on to more serious matters…
When I met both Margarita and Each I was reminded of how unanonymous I am. As such I’d like to discuss some ground rules guidelines for our collective meeting. Please feel free to add any guidelines that might make you more comfortable. I will be keeping track of all guidelines and may even have an MC moment to start us off that night. Another reason for the karaoke bar…am I pushing it? Seriously, you all would be shocked at how well I do Lady Marmalade…all parts. No joke, it’s impressive. Not to toot any horns but I did win a karaoke competition with it…I digress…

Pictures will be allowed. I would like to take a group shot for posterity and nostalgic reasons. And also to document the first of ( hopefully) many Blog Cons! Aside from this group shot, lets try to refrain from general shots from across the room. This can get tricky later when you want to post all of these wonderful pictures and you tag anonymous bloggers with their not so anonymous real names and websites! Eek! Keep it up close and personal. And remember to get posting permission!

If you’re like me your significant other will be traveling with you. I can’t very well leave my husband in a hotel room in NYC where he’s never been and say “ta ta for now, I’ll be back later…wasted” So please ask your significants if they’d like to tag along. It will be wonderful to meet all of the special ones in all of our lives that we blog about so frequently.

That being said, don’t invite your entourage. Remember we want to meet you! Not 485734857 people who know you. If they don’t blog, how are we ever going to remember them or even worse…care about meeting them? I’m sure Margarita (and crew…I’m starting to feel like the chair of the Prom Committee) will pick a place that can accommodate our large party and still let in a few stragglers. So for all you singles, no worries…we’ll find some fresh meat for you
Please let me know if you have any other ideas for guidelines. All ideas are welcome!
Also-I know several of you will be traveling into NYC for this event, I have had some offers from locals of their couches but if you’d be more comfy in a hotel please email me or leave a comment. I will be staying in a hotel and it would probably be easier if we all stayed at the same one. I’m the queen of spreadsheets so if you want a roomie to split the costs, I can get it all set up.
And last but not least…T Shirts? I think they’re necessary. I am in no way a designer so if you’d like to be in charge of that please let me know. We can discuss specifics over gchat

Podcamps and blogcons are all the rage. I bet you’ll get great feedback. Is there an official page for this event? How about a wiki?
On a side note, my mom lived in Southport right outside of Boiling Springs about 30min or so from Wilmington. I also have family in Kinston and in Newport.
We’d love to relocate there too but don’t know too much about the job market etc. Where are you living in NC?
