I don’t want to make resolutions. Mainly b/c I’d be too embarrassed to admit later on that I’ve failed to keep them. I’ve never been able to keep any promises to myself and am especially bad when it comes time for Lent. It’s only 40 days but goodness those 40 days can seem like years.
That being said, I’d like to present you with some goals for the upcoming year.
- Be a third less in debt. I had been referring to 2008 as the year I get out of debt. That’s not going to happen unless I win the lottery. The lottery I don’t play. Realistically it’s going to take me about 3-5 years to get out of debt, depending on which debt we’re looking at. Because my husband and I just bought a new car we’re obviously not going to pay that off in 3 years or less. But as far as credit card debt goes, I think one third less is feasible and if I am even more out of debt by January 1st, 2009, then go me! Basically I’m looking to pay off and close my two store cards, finish paying my medical bill from the surgery that didn’t work, and pay off and close my lowest credit line credit card.
- Get my 100th workout shirt from Curves by my 25th birthday. I have about 10 workouts under my belt so far and my birthday is May 12. If I go 3 times a week I’ll only get 56 more workouts in. That’s not going to help me reach my goal. Some weeks I will need to go 5 times a week in order to obtain this goal. I think I can do it. I mean it’s right up the road and it’s only 1/2 and hour. How lazy am I if I don’t get 100 workouts by my 25th?
- Plan and execute Blog Con 08. It’s going to be amazing. On Monday I’ll be posting the first official all Blog Con post. Stay tuned.
- Get the damned cats de-clawed. I just can’t take it anymore.
I think these are good goals. There aren’t that many of them and I’d only be intensifying what I already do. If I keep that attitude, I think this is all quite feasible!
*kisses*

I wish I was better at making any sort of goals for myself, but, Blog-Con, I am SO IN, and I’d also like to be out of debt. UGH.
yay for blog con ‘08! and 100 workouts? you can do it!!
oh man i need to get started on my 2008 to-do list! I’ve slacked off already! and you can totally do the 100 workouts, just dont make excuses and you’ll see results and it’ll be that much easier to go
good luck!
Those are great goals and totally attainable.
CANNOT WAIT for Blog Con 08!! If anyone needs a place to stay, I’ve got an available futon!
Happy New Year!
bet the cats one happens first…
just sayin
I don’t make resolutions because I don’t like to fail either. I think those are perfect goals.
Happy 2008!
I’ve always seen resolutions as goals, so perhaps I’m missing the resolution avoidance. And I hate lent… blahhhh… I’ll sacrifice…later? haha.
My 2008 goals were all financial, and I established a challenge (on my blog, of course!): http://www.shauna26.wordpress.com.
Best of luck!
I’m trying to get rid of my cc debt too! And yay BlogCon!!
Those are great goals. Here’s to you and me both reaching ours this year.
Woo! You can so do it chica. Let’s be internet gym buddies! I need motivation too.
I really need to get rid of the credit card debt too. I need help tho. Noah just lets me buy whatever I want b/c he loves me and doesn’t know when to say No. Actually we usually barter me buying something for something that he wants and is going to get anyway if you know what I mean. Wink. So I need help. Please message/email/text me every day to let me know that I don’t need to buy anything! Please?
OMG I hope I’m around for Blog Con… then again if I’m not I’ll be trekking around Asia so I guess that won’t be so bad.
Good luck! Of course I’d like to institute a workout regimine but that always fails. I might look into a Curves in Dtown but what I really want to do is check out a Self Defense class. Matt says I should also do Judo so that will be my second thing. And then I need to revamp my website and if I can finish all my scrapbooks I will be SOOOOOOOOOOO happy.
I agree resolutions are terrible idea. And so I don’t make any or many
All the best with your resolutions, if you need a coach approach for your workout or just moral encouragement to keep you going, ask me.
and yay blog con!
Can’t wait for Blog Con ‘08 (though, according to a lot of posts on the circuit lately, you’ve already met EVERYONE lol).
I definitely think it’s plausible.
Thinking of being out of debt makes me feel warm inside.
I think your goals are pretty feasible! Get that t-shirt!!! xo
We’ll make it a goal to encourage each other! You go girl! I look forward to seeing a picture of you in that t-shirt!
Michelle told me about Blog Con 08! You are brilliant and I would so love to come!!
And 100 workouts? You can do it!!
You are a superstar!
And BlogCon- when, where? I am in the US in June, so you should make it then!!
VERY jealous now. BlogCon. Break my heart, why dontcha. But still happy for you guys, of course.
I wish we had a gym like Curves here. Awesome on the 100 workouts. Now if I can only make one before the first week of the year is over.
Hey, don’t get the cats declawed. Get them some soft claws. If I had a cat I’d have to get some of these. chesk out this web sitehttp://www.spuk.com/?gclid=CIOQy_GY5ZACFQcWEAodVFPDOg
You could have the snazziest cats in town. They do them for dogs too but I doubt they would last five minutes on Brac the way he charges around.
